The challenge
The ceiling void carried the fire alarm loop for the whole building. Any interruption would have taken the alarm offline across six floors.
What we did
We had the alarm contractor install a temporary bypass loop before demolition and staged the ceiling works in four zones, each recommissioned and tested before the next opened.
Outcome
No alarm downtime, no evacuation, and the floor handed over two days early.
